The vast majority of existing sliding patio doors are suitable to have our blinds in glass retrofitted. The existing sealed glass units in your doors must be 24mm in thickness or above, this is because the narrowest unit we can manufacture for our blinds in glass is 24mm, please remember that the blind is housed inside or in-between the two panes of glass, and therefore a 16mm space or cavity is the minimum space needed for the blind to exist and operate freely without issues, then there are two 4mm panes of glass, comprising a 24mm unit. Therefore, your existing sliding patio doors must currently have 24mm or thicker sealed glass units, the standard sealed unit thickness today is 28mm, as is the standard thickness of our blinds in glass. If the glass in your existing doors is oversized, for example each individual glass panel is greater than 1.2m in width, again it is unlikely you will be able to have magnetic blinds, and motorised blinds in glass may be the only option. The best thing to do is to contact us today and talk to one of our friendly experts, who will be able to advise you on your options and the compatibility of your existing doors for our blinds in glass.
