One of the common questions we get is if we are able to retrofit our internal blinds into existing sliding patio doors, and the answer is yes as long as your existing doors are compatible with 24mm thick sealed glass units and above. The standard thickness of a sealed glass unit for windows and doors in the United Kingdom is now 28mm, and our interior blinds also come as 28mm thick as standard, although we can go down to 24mm in thickness, therefore in the vast majority of cases we can retrofit our internal blinds into your current or existing sliding patio door frames. If your sliding patio door frames are more than 10 years old, there is a small chance that they were manufacture to take sealed units that are narrow than 24mm, which is the minimum thickness we can do with our interior blinds, however, this is very rare. If you are unsure, do not worry, we have a team of expert surveyors that we can send out free of charge to check the thickness of the glass in your existing doors, to ensure they are compatible with our interior blinds for sliding glass doors.

Are your existing sliding patio doors suitable for interior blinds?
We have a team of surveyors that are experts in this field, we can send a surveyor down to you free of charge to check whether or not your doors are compatible to have internal blinds retrofitted into your existing sliding patio doors. It is very rare that we come across existing sliding patio doors that we cannot retrofit our internal blinds into, usually they are frames that are more than 10 years old, but if you frames are more than 10 years old, do not let that dishearten you, most frames more than 10 years old we can still retrofit our interior blinds into. It is a process of removing your existing sealed glass units, and installing new sealed glass units which also have internal blinds inside, which has been sealed inside in our factory during the manufacturing process, so effectively your old sealed glass units are removed, and new sealed glass units with interior blinds are installed, and they are available in both a magnetic and motorised system

Why have Sliding Glass Doors with Interior Blinds?
There are a great deal of advantages of having sliding glass patio doors with internal blinds:
- Internal Blinds for Sliding Patio Doors give you excellent flexibility when it comes to privacy. Each individual door or sealed glass unit has its own interior blind that is sealed in-between the glass, and each individual blind has its own small discreet controls to operate the internal blind, therefore you have the flexibility of controlling privacy on an individual glass unit basis. For example, say you have a 2-panel sliding patio door and you only wish to close the blinds on one side of the door, you can do so by simply only closing the blinds in one of the doors. The same applies if you have a 6-panel sliding patio door, it may be that you only wish to close the blinds on 1 or 2 of the doors to stop the sunlight coming in were it is creating glare on the television, with internal blinds you are able to close the blinds on each individual door
- No cleaning required! Our interior blinds are housed inside the sealed glass units that are fitted into your doors, they are protected not only by the glass, but also by a hermetic seal. The interior blind is sealed in-between the glass unit during the manufacturing stage with a hermetic seal which is both airtight and watertight, therefore once the internal blind sealed glass units are fitted into your doors, they cannot get dirty or dusty, and you never have to worry about cleaning them
